Stanford has a very active and engaged Drupal community[1]. These are some of the Stanford specific resources for Drupal:

Website Redesign Checklist

Overview

This checklist is intended to help small departments assess their needs for website re-design and leverage as many Stanford and low-cost opportunities as possible.

The "Roles" section lists all of the potential roles in an ideal redesign. Some of these are areas of focus rather than actual job titles, but each could easily take up a great deal of time. With a small staff, some individuals will fulfill several roles, and some roles will be filled by outsiders.

Stanford Sites - Backup and Migrate Files in dev

Hi all,

For a personal stanford sites site (i.e. people.stanford.edu/mstoaks) Is it correct that the module "Backup and Migrate Files" is only available in production and not in dev (people-dev.stanford.edu/mstoaks)?

Thanks!
Max

Apple Thunderbolt Display requires NetDB entry

Inside the recently released Thunderbolt Display from Apple is a fairly complete computer, including several controllers and other hardware trappings. The included Ethernet port on the rear of the display is not simply a passthrough, but requires a bona fide entry of its MAC address into NetDB. Yes, the display has a MAC address. Then again, doesn't your refrigerator?

This cost me 1+ hour this morning and an actual call to AppleCare, so hopefully this post can save others some headache.

Regards,
Vijoy

ps For this interested, here are some teardown pics on the display:

Virtual Host for Foswiki / TWiki wikis

Using a vanity URL / virtual host address like http://mysub.stanford.edu with a Foswiki is pretty straightforward. Assuming that your Foswiki installation's view script is at http://www.stanford.edu/path/to/cgi-bin/wiki/bin/view, then

Error when creating a new theme in an existing site

Each enabled theme in a site will have independent configurations for all of the site blocks.

When a theme is created, the configurations for all of the blocks associated with the default theme will be duplicated for the new theme. However the title text and styles for some of the blocks will be missing the title. In our case the tag and block title was missing for all or our right hand sidebars. They were there for the original default theme but not for the new theme.
